Hello and welcome to La Montagne Living. Thank you for taking a moment to find out more about me and what we do here. My name is Laura Desmarais. I'm a wife, mother, California girl, world traveler, antique collector, hopeless Francophile, artisan, decorator, mom to three pugs and so much more. I am also the proud proprietress to four lovely boutiques.
Why four you may ask?
I was educated overseas where I learned to appreciate all that this amazing world has to offer. I began collecting antiques and treasures throughout my travels and have brought them home to you. My collections are from all over the globe and span several decades. Each is so uniquely special, I felt that each collection deserved a place of its own to shine.
La Vie Charmante is my French inspired boutique. It's home to French antiques, vintage French pieces, vintage clothing, French housewares, vintage kitchenware, vintage bedding (including those coveted Eiderdowns!), vintage linens, vintage curtains, vintage hard to find dolls and more. If you're like me and adore the charm of yesteryear coupled with the intrigue of France, you'll absolutely want to stop by to see what's 'in store'.
The Old Cottage Shoppe is home to charming adornments for your home. Here you'll discover authentic antique linens, good old American quilts, antique clothing, boudoir pieces, Limoges, glassware of all sorts, artisan jewelry as well as trinkets and treasures galore. Unique pieces with a hint of yesteryear to enhance your beloved abode.
My eponymous boutique, Laura Desmarais Designs pays homage to the sophisticated beauty of the 18th century. Stop by to uncover antiques, lovely paintings, exquisite handmade dolls, pretty pillows, my collection of elegant handbags and one of a kind jewelry sure to make you swoon.
Pug Presence is dedicated to our beloved fur babies. Those darling little creatures who love us more than they love themselves. As the proud owner of three pugs, we wanted to create a place where fellow pug lovers could find unique pug themed merchandise.We've commissioned artists and designers to create exclusive lines of stationery and jewelry you won't find anywhere else. We also offer collars, accessories pillows and home decor items honoring pugs. This shop is a joint venture with my young son, Andy, who is an aspiring entrepreneur. Together we promise to make every purchase a delight.
